Magic cards have never had a strong cohesive look imo. That was actually one of the most off-putting things about getting into commander for me… cards from different sets and time periods that look nothing alike all thrown together bugs me. I’m not a Disney fan, but hey, they got their IP on lock at least.

I quite like the games, and some of the music. But man, that artwork for the secret lair ranges from meh to awful.

For such a comboish archetype like goblins, it would have been fun to include cards like Conspicuous Snoop, just so they could have jokes like "Kikki Jikki Liked This 👍" Or a Murderous Redcap with comments by Skirk Prospector and Metalic Mimic

The limited way they do Secret Lairs is such BS, especially if they're gonna keep making so many. They can print as many as people want. This is just false scaricity BS.

is it like floating artifact? you have to have a blue mana to cast it first, so you have to sacrifice chromatic start first for blue to cast it, so it reduces the artifact number, am I wrong?

As someone who is returning to magic after a out 15 years away, it seems like most packs these days are not worth buying.

Unless I'm missing something did Jim not mess up? At the end the Prof's board was a 2/2 lord, a 3/3 lord, and 2 4/4 bears. If Jim casts his smother the 2/2 lord dies, shrinking the 3/3 lord to a 2/2 which then dies. Both bears become 2/2s which also die.

Something I really struggle with in Commander is knowing when I should try to go for the win and when I should hang back or sandbag my cards. E.g. I don’t want to expand my board presence and put out a lot of threats only to be taken down by the other players, but also sometimes I miss my chance and someone else gets into a dominant position and I can’t overtake them.
